According to the most recent NAR Pending Home Sales report, pending home sales increased by 1.8% from the prior month.



Most people assume serious food production requires a full backyard, multiple raised beds, and a permanent fence system. It does not. A single 10 by 10 foot plot using intensive planting methods can produce over 400 pounds of food per year — enough to feed a family of four through the growing season and fill a freezer for winter.


WHY THIS LAYOUT WORKS:

- Center rows: peppers, eggplant, bush beans, beets, carrots in tight rotation
- South edge: low crops that need full sun — lettuce, radish, herbs, spinach
- Corners: perennial herbs (rosemary, thyme, oregano) planted once, harvested for years

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city experienced a staggering 30.6% population increase between July 2023 and July 2024, placing it at the top of the national growth rankings.

 


But population growth alone doesn’t tell the full story.



Princeton sits just 10 minutes from McKinney, one of the most established economic hubs in North Texas. As home prices in nearby cities like McKinney, Frisco, and Prosper have climbed into the $500k–$800k range, many residents are moving east in search of more attainable housing.

Today, Princeton remains one of the few places in Collin County where new homes are still available around $335,000, creating a powerful affordability advantage that continues to attract new residents.

Pending Home Sales Increase in February
 

According to the most recent NAR Pending Home Sales report, pending home sales increased by 1.8% from the prior month. However, this number still represents an annual (year-over-year) decline of 0.8%.

Here are the regional pending home sales figures for last month.

  • The Midwest region saw a 4.6% monthly increase, and a slight, 0.1% decrease compared to February 2025.
  • Pending home sales in the South saw a 2.7% increase from January 2026, and an annual increase of 1.2%.
  • The West recorded a 0.9% monthly increase, and an impressive, annual 3.2% increase.
  • Numbers fell in the Northeast region. Monthly pending home sales were down 3.6%, sliding by 12.1% annually.
